The Grascals are coming to Guitartown Saturday Sept. 19th @ 7:00 PM
In 2004 the Grascals released their first album, and were invited by Dolly Parton to tour with her. In the four years since they have won 21 SPBGMA and IBMA awards, including 2005 IBMA Best New Artists, 2006 & 2007 IBMA Bluegrass Entertainers of the year, and 2008 IBMA banjo player of the year Kristen Scott Benson has recently joined the band. Their trademark blend of traditional bluegrass and classic country, delivered with vocal and instrumental intensity and virtuosity, earned them Grammy nominations for their first two critically acclaimed CD's: "The Grascals" and "Long List of Heartaches." Their third Rounder release, "Keep On Walkin", featuring special guest Vince Gill, showcases both their freewheeling side and a deeper perspective. Their live show is fun, spontaneous and never predictable.
