Jeff Picker
​
Jeff is a star bassist in Nashville. Married to 6-time Grammy winner Sarah Jarosz, he does a lot of studio work these days. Formerly with Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder, East Nash Grass and Nickel Creek, he is a member of the Grand 'Ol Opry house band.
He has a lot to say about being married to a star like Sarah Jarosz, the touring life, a "regular job" like studio work, and the state of contemporary music. A fascinating and insightful guy.

The bluegrass classes at Neighborhood Music School in New Haven are open for fall enrollment. They start on September 9.
​
Three are ensembles, practicing towards bluegrass performances during the year. The fourth is an introduction to bluegrass jamming.
​​
Classes are limited to six people. ​The only prerequisite is basic facility on a stringed insument like guitar, banjo, fiddle, mandolin, dobro or bass. ​

Bluegrass Jams
Anyone with basic facility on a stringed acoustic instrument like guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle, dobro or bass is welcome to play along.
We sit in a circle, and take turns leading and soloing on classic bluegrass (and sometimes country) songs. If you choose, you can just strum along quietly in the back.
Feel free to come listen, and if you enjoy it you can always throw money in the tip jar, which all goes to Best Video!
