Gene Lowinger
This is a fascinating look into the world of Bill Monroe and his Bluegrass Boys in 1964-5.

Gene Lowinger, who played fiddle with Monroe, was beloved for his performances of Monroe's classic "Uncle Pen". He never knew he was playing Uncle Pen's actual fiddle his entire time with Monroe! Gene was sitting with Monroe and Peter Rowan when they wrote "Walls of Time".

He has so many fabulous memories of Monroe, who loved his fiddle playing, and stood up for him as he faced anti-Jewish prejudice. Bill demanded a lot, and loved to challenge his band members in many ways. Great stuff here!!
